LONDON: Calivary Museum and Parliment Area

After we finished up through Trafalgar Square we saw some older looking buildings that looked pretty old, so we headed down that way. Our motto through out the first day was simple, just walk around and look at stuff. I am going to admit it worked pretty well, just wait for some of our day two post through!

On our way to the parliment building we ran into this Calvary museum. It interesting and there were horses outside so we wondered in and noticed a gravel circle that was set up for a show, so we found a place to watch.

This was the first part of the show, a line of about ten horses circle around and then lined up. Then they stood there. After about ten minutes we left. No point wasting time.
As we were walking we found this gate with a whole bunch of guards. Maren told us earlier that this 10 Downey Street. which is where the prime minister lives!

Farther down the street we found and extra set of doors, I thought maybe we could break in!
right after this photo was taken a gaurd sauntered over to the doors just to double check that they were sealed. I thought it was pretty funny.

The infamous double decker buses.

Another block away we saw BIG BEN!

Across the street from Parliment there was a protesting against the Afgantistian.

And this is Westminster Abbey! Gorgous isn't it? It was 15 pounds to get in so we just looked around the grounds.

This is the other side of the parliament building. I think we were in shock the whole first day about how grand everything is. I just couldn't believe that I was seeing so many things I see on television and read about!
We really wanted to go inside the parliament building but it was an hour and a half wait because they were in session so you had to wait until they were done! Man don't they get working really interferes with my daily schedule? The whole area was gorgeous!

I love how they checked to make sure you weren't really getting into 10 Downey.
