On our walk to the next Wat (which is the name for a temple) we got to see some fun typical Thailand items.
This little guy is called a tuk tuk. It is used for a taxi that is exposed to all the elements.
There are a lot of statues everywhere, and also a lot of shrines to the Royalty of the country. Ron was telling us that offending the royals are a big deal, and can send you to jail and other consequences for a long long time.
Kalen, these elephants are for you!
Brent in front of the ministry of defense. How many cannons can you count? I think total there was something like 30?
Here is Wat Pho, which was shut down because of President Obama. It is funny because we saw the crowned prince of Thailand at a much closer proximity than we were even able to get the president of our own country.
Instead of waiting it out, we just went to the next on our to see list. Wat Ratchabophit. Something everyone should know are there are Wats EVERYWHERE! I don't even think you could see them all if you wanted too. Knowing that, Wat Ratchabophit was a way less popular one, but I am so glad we went.
The detail was still outstanding and there were no crowds. It was awesome.
Brent and I enjoying the peace and serenity. I was also not feeling good at this point at all!
This is also a place where monks still live and maintain, it was neat to watch them in action.
Here is the main building. This Wat was so deserted there were homeless people sleeping a various places throughout the Wat.
Look at this beautiful building!
Since it was so empty we could set up the camera and get some pictures of us together!
For the rest of the day we were able to wander throughout the city and get a good feel for what it is like to be in Bangkok. That night Ron was nice enough to have his driver come and pick us up, and finally head back to his gorgeous home for some rest!
