Easter was never a big deal to me growing up, but in Vegas the weather is so perfect that is makes it a very addictive and satisfying celebration. We tried to spend a good portion of our family time talking about what Easter means and why we celebrate it, but those are very "pictury" moments, so often it looks like we only do the secular activities. This isn't accurate but pictures are fun, so it's what I post. This year we went to our ward Easter party and held one of our own.
I didn't think London would get easter egg hunts, but she really got it. At first we had to hand her each individual egg but soon she understood the game. It didn't mean that she was willing to drop her sippy cup though.
Harper needed no instruction. She was hard to keep up with it because she was so into it.
We've been working really hard with Harper to be a good helper. It is going as well as trying to get a two year old to do anything can go. She is great sometimes and really frustrating others. In this instance, she was very helpful, in fact, she wouldn't let anyone else put their eggs away.
Easter day came and so did the easter bunny, Grandma Forsberg bought the girls cute little easter dresses and we got them little baskets of dollar toys.
Harper found the candy pretty quickly.
And then thumbed through the rest of her stack
Part of the presents included items we knew the girls would need for our upcoming trip to Costa Rica. New sandals were a must.
Brent tried to manage the stack and keep it somewhat manageable. It was much harder than we thought.
London was just happy to have a basket.
Okay, I think I am funny. Let that be known, so when the Easter bunny neglected to make Brent a priority I stepped in and wrote this note because all Brent really wanted was some time and money to get some new clothes. Brent thinks I'm funny, well he's always laughing at me.. but he finds it particularly funny that I hashtag in all the wrong places. Sometimes I still lean over and say "Hashtag MoneyBunny"
That night, we had friends come over for a major easter egg hunt. Good times ensued.
Sometimes it s a two basket life.
She is so much of an animal lover it is insane, too bad I don't ever want to pick up poop and so this will never be a reality in our home.
Easter was really fun. I love being surround by friends and family to celebrate our the atonement of our Savior, especially since we live so far away from family.
