One dark and stormy night a plane landed in Transylvania, when the passengers disembarked bats flew out and bit everyone... okay the bat part is a lie but when we landed it was dark and stormy out! I know this weather is not the preferred but when you are in Transylvania your standards change a little and it was perfect!
The Targue Mires airport was tiny but it got the job done! After we rented our car we hit the road!
The first night we were suppose to stay in this Dracula themed hotel in Turda, but because a tourist group came with 5 extra people they figured we didn't need a room! It was pretty lame but we got another hotel for considerably less about 5 minutes away so no harm done!
After we settled into the hotel, which had two twin beds for four people (YEAH SNUGGLING!) Brent and I decided to see what Turda had to offer. It was a smaller town about 1.5 hours away from the airport! There were the cool fountains that played with different colored light everywhere!
This is a church that we found! Apparently when you walk around at 10 pm nothing is open so we didn't get many pictures!
One of the running jokes through out the trip was about the feral dogs running around! This little guy was so stinking cute and I would have taken him home in a second! Caliah and he could be best friends! (no worries I promptly washed my hand!) After we finished walking around we went to the hotel and watch tv with the Bucks! One reason I love Television is because they do subtitles instead of dubbing so I could actually watch television! Oh how I miss it!
We were on the second story of the hotel and there were these doors leading to no where! Brent though about using it as our getaway but the stairs worked out just fine in the end!
The first day in a new country is always tricky but it sure helps having a car with a GPS system! It got us everywhere we needed to go in no time! Sleeping was a little rough because Brent was a bed hog :). At the end of the first day I knew this was going to be a great vacation!
